Litters

Planning a litter is not easy and requires a lot of time, knowledge, money and patience. Due to this reasons, we will be planning a limited amount of litters. We are breeding primarily for us, not for others, and we have high demands regarding health, structure, mentality and genetics. Before considering a litter, our dogs get all relevant health examinations, including:
– X-rays for hips, elbows and spine
– Genetical testing for breed specific diseases (CEA/MDR/PRA/DMS/DM/VwD3)
– Clinical examinations of eyes (ECVO)
– Clinical examination of teeth, heart and bloodtests.
Our dogs are first and foremost family dogs with active lifestyles and a competing schedule. This will always be our priority and we will only plan a litter if we are 100% convinced of the dog and 100% convinced that we have the time and resources to raise a puppy litter in the best possible way.

We don’t have typical waiting lists with rankings. All puppies are reserved to us until they are 5-6 weeks old. Then, puppies will be placed to their new homes according gender, temperament and sizes to the best fitting homes. We will do our best to breed Shelties with good health, structure and drive but sometimes nature has it’s own ways and we can’t promise the next agility champion or breeding dog.
We prefer active homes where our puppies can get old and retire, in good and bad times. We wish to stay in contact, support our puppies a lifetime and will try to help as much as possible if there should be questions, problems or difficult life situations.

Please feel free to contact if you can imagine being a forever home to a Luxmentis puppy. Family and co-owning homes will be prioritised.
